Welcome to the Bayou..

..and my page of MAD-LOVE for the DC Comic's fictional Superhero/Monster - SWAMP THING.
Like myself, his history extends all the way back to the early 1970s, when two young geniuses named Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson created the character for a one-off story in The House of Secrets #92. This succinct 8-pager led to fans demanding a series - and it would feature some of the best storytelling of the decade.
I started reading in 1982 with Swampy's second ongoing book, Saga of the Swamp Thing #1, and was instantly hooked. It was a good comic and the beginning of a series that would eventually influence the entire industry, thanks to Alan Moore, Stephen Bissette and John Tottleben.

Fact is, you should find an issue or collection and see why he's been a favorite character of so many talented artists and writers for almost 50 years - there's just somethin' about Swamp Thing...

I love this character like an old friend.
